Grade 1s have been learning about all sorts of living things, here students are sorting animal picture cards into their classifications.

** Over the holiday weekend students are asked to make entries into their Field Journals about some of the living things they encounter.**

After Rainbow Day....

Rainbow Day

What a fantastic day! A big thanks to all the parents that came and cheered us on. Thank you to all the families that donated snacks to "The Snack Shack."

Rolling for 50

Today kids in 1KR learned a new math game, Rolling for 50. We practiced counting up and back on the number grid.

Turtle "tatoos"

Mr. Montoya gave each student a turtle "tatoo" after he spoke to us about turtle shell evolution.

Pebblego!

Discovering Animals!  

   Grade 1 students are currently studying animals and in our library lessons, we have been looking at how to use  information books to discover facts about creatures. We also explored one of Taism’s subscription databases called Pebblego. This site is aimed specifically at young students and finding out about ladybugs was great fun. Many students were keen to try it for themselves as it is at their level and has both audio and video elements.
