Dear grade 1 parents,
Returning from a holiday break is a good time to revisit expectations and reinforce rules. Kindly note the following:
1) Hats MUST be worn if children are going to play in the sunshine. If your child chooses to play in the shaded play areas, they aren't required to wear a hat.
2) Unhealthy snacks will NO LONGER BE PERMITTED . Crisps, chips, chocolate cakes, cookies, candy and other junk food will not be allowed. Please take time to purchase healthy snacks this weekend, I will begin to enforce this rule on Saturday. The internet is full of fun and healthy snack idea, here's a couple of links with tasty ideas the kids will enjoy. Kindly refrain from sending nuts and nut butters (including Nutella).

3) TAISM's homework policy is that students in grade 1 read for 20 minutes every night. It is evident when students/parents neglect this responsibility. Please be sure to set aside time each afternoon, evening or even in the morning before school, to read with your child.
Thank you,
Ms Kelly
P.S. Thank you SO much for the lovely birthday gift. I am excited to try out the melting pot with yummy chocolate and strawberries this evening with Marin and Ian. A big thanks to Nadine for organizing a impromptu birthday treat. The cakepops were a hit with the kids!
